Had a patient in today that started getting ear pain. She said she used to get bad earaches every four years or so and started feeling one coming on. After doing a meningeal release and a few vertebra, her ear pain was gone. She was surprised that her spine would have something to do with her ears. Earaches and ear pain happen for a reason and it’s usually mechanical. Even an ear infection is preceded by a mechanical problem causing poor drainage of the fluid in the middle ear. The bacteria are there to clean up the mess and we blame them as the bad guys. Yes they cause swelling and pain, but it’s the fluid that needs to drain into the back of the throat where the Eustachian tube drains. If that is physically blocked by structural problems, an earache can be the result.
Simply adjusting a person can improve the drainage and the earache can often go away quickly.
